Whether you're a professional, student, stay-at-home parent, or retiree, Toastmasters International is the ideal self-paced self-development platform to enhance your communication skills and build your self-confidence.

Toastmasters International club meetings and educational programs can help you lose the fear of public speaking and improve technical and soft skills that will support you in being more successful in whatever path in life you've chosen.

Being an active engaged member of Toastmasters International, you will be better equipped to lead teams and conduct meetings, as well as comfortably give and receive constructive evaluation.

You already have some of these skills. With Toastmasters International, you will enhance them.

How does it work?
At Toastmasters International club meetings, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. A typical Toastmasters International club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet twice a month for 1 to 3 hours. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice the technical and soft skills learnt. This could be including but not limited to the following:

Conducting meetings
Club Meetings usually begin or end with a short business session which helps members learn basic meeting procedures.

Giving impromptu speeches
Members present one to two minute impromptu speeches on assigned surprise topics

Presenting prepared speeches
Members present speeches based on projects from their Toastmasters International Pathways Projects. Projects will be varied and relevant to the specific Pathway, and one of the 5 levels.

Evaluate to motivate
Every prepared speaker is assigned an Evaluator during the club meeting who will highlight their speech strengths and offers suggestions for improvement.

What tools do you have? Upon joining a Toastmasters International club, each new member is registered on the international Learner Management System - Basecamp - giving them access to an online resource and tutorial library that takes them through every project, covering the applicable technical and soft skills.

Each member also works with a mentor, and receives feedback and support from all club members. There are also extra educational sessions run by the District on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year.
