Theme for 2011/2012: The Club is the newest member

Simon combined a little personal history with some fine story telling abilities to give us an excellent opening speech. Clearly the 'ordeal' of this opener was anything but an ordeal as he soon signed on for a Transformers Toastmasters membership, and then volunteered to do his CC2 at the next meeting!

Be sure not to miss it.

Keith provided ample controversy with his interactive speech on the energy crises, and what Eskom is doing about the problem. The questions he received were more than enough to prove that he had a message of great importance for the masses..

Other highlights tonight included Jerry's  word of the evening - Commune - which virtually everyone managed to slip in somewhere, and the impromptu session, which required participants to speak 'for' a particular concept for 45 seconds, and then switch to speaking against it..as always, everyones attempt to switch their point of view had audience members in stitches.

Keith won the impromptu session, with Glenice taking the evaluation award for her evaluation of Simon's speech.

Toastmaster for the evening Ruth took the best contribution award.
